Hitting a milestone Season 13 premiere, the podcast titled “Dead A** Podcast” just debuted its first episode of Season 13.

Season 13 of @deadassthepodcast dropped yesterday and we had a very interesting Listener Letter.
Dude proposed to his girlfriend for THE THIRD TIME and she said NO, for the third time. First time he said he was in the moment, didn’t have a ring and she said, “Do Better!” Second time he still didn’t have a ring but felt the moment was right and she said, “Do Better!” Finally my man took heed to her words, planned a trip (that fell through) BUT purchased a ring, shawty STILL SAID, “Do Better!”
My question is this— Ladies, we are responsible to adhere to ALL of your demands when it comes to proposing. We are even tasked with doing it within the time frame you would like or you are well within your rights to say NO! Understandable.💪🏾
What standards are WE (the proposing party) allowed to demand without being considered misogynistic, narcissistic, patriarchal, old school or downright selfish?
I ask because, at a live show last year a young lady (mid 20s) blasted her boyfriend for taking too long to propose. I asked her how she would like to be proposed to and she said, “I would like all my friends and family to be there, a photographer, a videographer, a grand gesture and a ring with at least a 3 carat diamond in the middle.” All the women cheered and stood up for her having a well thought out idea for her love story. Some even said that she should leave buddy if he didn’t propose in the allotted time. I pointed out that that proposal can run anywhere between $40k – $50k (modestly). It got quiet, but most of the crowd said she was well within her rights to put a time frame on this $40k – $50k proposal. I asked what she was going to contribute to the proposal and she said, “ME!”😵💫
Kay Kay & I have 4 sons. God willing they will find a woman to create a life with and build a family. Best believe my boys will have standards, and when THAT moment comes I’m going to ask, “What is she bringing to the table for you to invest in this love story?” And If the answer is “herself” my answer will be, “NEITHER OF YOU are ready to get married.”
